Onze tuin op het platteland is uitgegroeid tot een ware tuinklassieker en Margery Fish wordt nog altijd beschouwd als een van de meest invloedrijke tuinvrouwen van Engeland. Margery Fish (1892 – 1969) was haar tijd ver vooruit en leidde een avontuurlijk leven. Op jonge leeftijd schopte ze het tot rechterhand van de editor van de Daily Mail, een zeer ongebruikelijke rol voor een jonge vrouw. Tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog ging ze met gevaar voor eigen leven mee met een missie naar de VS. Terug in Engeland trouwde ze haar collega Walter Fish en verhuisden ze naar East Lambrook Manor, het huis en de tuin waar ze de rest van hun leven bleven. De tuin is ook tegenwoordig open voor bezoekers en geldt als ‘The home of English Cottage Gardening’.

Cees Buisman studied water purification engineering, in addition to business administration, communication theory and applied integral psychology. Throughout his life he has worked on new environmental technologies, which are used in industry all over the world. His scientific work is highly cited. Buisman is the Director of Wetsus – European Center for Sustainable Water Technology, and Professor at Wageningen University, in the Netherlands.
