€ 39,90Nanne Ottema was als bestuurder, conservator, notaris, publicist en spreker actief in het Friese culturele leven. Hij stelde een wereldberoemde keramiekcollectie samen die in 1917 resulteerde in het Keramiekmuseum Princessehof in Leeuwarden. Het vermogen dat hij vergaarde, leidde tot de Ottema-Kingma Stichting, de grootste mecenas voor de kunst- en cultuurhistorie in Friesland. Zijn roem is zo langzamerhand verzonken in zijn onmetelijke verzamelingen, maar in zijn tijd was hij een vermaard, berucht en dominant persoon. In deze biografie wordt duidelijk hoe briljant Ottema was en hoe tegelijkertijd zijn leven intens dramatisch verliep. Nooit eerder werd beschreven wat de verborgen drijfveren waren van deze in zijn tijd alom bekende figuur.

Humanity is not a plague

Cees Buisman studied water purification engineering, in addition to business administration, communication theory and applied integral psychology. Throughout his life he has worked on new environmental technologies, which are used in industry all over the world. His scientific work is highly cited. Buisman is the Director of Wetsus – European Center for Sustainable Water Technology, and Professor at Wageningen University, in the Netherlands.
Mijn bijtring was een hazenbot
€ 17,50Jachtpassie is niet erfelijk, maar als zoon van ‘Meester’ Tulp, onderwijzer – en jager – in Hoogwoud, ging de schrijver (1950) al heel jong mee op jacht. Eerst als drijver, en vanaf zijn 16e met het geweer. Bijna vijftig jaar later is hij nog steeds te vinden in de West-Friese velden. In diverse jachttijdschriften publiceerde hij regelmatig verhalen en artikelen over de jacht.
De illustraties zijn van Kees van Scherpenzeel (1955). Hij was tussen 1978 en 2012 werkzaam als professioneel illustrator. In de loop der jaren heeft hij honderden natuurboeken, kinderboeken, streekromans en tijdschriften van tekeningen voorzien. Ook illustreerde hij een aantal jachtboeken.
