Fokje Pasma (1865-1956)
€ 24,90De doopsgezinde Friese boerendochter Fokje Pasma (1865-1956) was een zelfbewuste, dienstbare vrouw die haar eigen weg zocht. Ze was de muze van Pieter Jelles Troelstra, bevrijdde zich van een gewelddadige echtgenoot en verschafte zich economische onafhankelijkheid door als alleenstaande moeder alsnog een opleiding te volgen. Ze vestigde zich als vroedvrouw in Oostburg en Vlissingen, waar ze in 1914 het Moederhuis oprichtte. Ook was ze de stuwende kracht achter de oprichting van een Vereniging tot Kraamverzorging en Zuigelingenbescherming in Vlissingen.
Bertus Mulder (Heerenveen, 1949) studeerde arbeidssociologie, was docent sociale geschiedenis en promoveerde aan de Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. Eerder schreef hij biografieën over Jaap Nieuwenhuize en Sophie Louisa Kwaak en verschenen zijn studies over Pieter Jelles Troelstra.

Philip Van Kerrebroeck is an urologist and professor emeritus of Urology at the University of Maastricht. Born in Leuven (Belgium), he trained in Surgery and Urology in Brussels, Utrecht, Nijmegen and San Francisco. Over the years, he has also developed an interest in the history of urology and cultural anthropology. He is currently chairman of the History Office of the European Association of Urology (EAU).
