Anja Verbers is fysisch geograaf en gespecialiseerd in ijstijdlandschappen. De afgelopen twintig jaar onderzocht ze in Noord-Nederland veel pingoruïnes en uitblazingskommen. Ze werkte hierbij samen met de andere auteurs en een groot aantal vrijwilligers en studenten.
