an ambassador for the NGO ‘Light for the World’ and a consultant in medical legal matters.

Kuiken zet niet alleen relevante bronnen en feiten van zes eeuwen geschiedenis op een rij, maar geeft er ook betekenis aan door zowel de maatschappelijke als
de culturele context te verhelderen. Hij legt ook uit waarom er juist in Friesland nog zoveel actief zijn. In het tweede deel treft de lezer een overzicht aan met alle nog bestaande Friese lenen die nog studiebeurzen uitdelen — en voor wie die bestemd zijn.
